Freud’s invention of psychoanalysis cannot be restricted to knowledge, as psychoanalysis is also a clinical practice, and as such its operative concepts rely on (and relay) the singularity of each case. This seminar will consist in the exploration of four case studies in order to explain how Lacanian theory revolutionizes the clinic. Dr. Gherovici will demonstrate that a Lacanian perspective deploys an ethics of sexual difference and situates clinical interventions at the intersection of race, class, and the unconscious.
