Anarchist Reading Circle
Time: Thursdays, 6:00-8:00 PM EST (except 2nd Thursdays of the month)
Place: Online. A Zoom link will be sent on registration.
As a form of socialism, anarchism begins with the premise that we’re all in this together! Moreover, contrary to its public perception as offering at best puerile reflections on society and life, anarchism has actually produced a remarkable body of sophisticated theory. Much of this is surprisingly relevant to our contemporary world. In this circle, we read and discuss both classical and contemporary anarchist texts. Some authors we have read since we started in 2020 include: Peter Kropotkin, Ruth Kinna, Cindy Milstein, Marquis Bey, and Ursula Le Guin.
We are currently reading “Consider Her Ways” by John Wyndham. Please register on Eventbrite to join.
Our reading groups are highly engaging and inclusive. We often read parts of the text out loud during our meetings and value diverse ways of knowing and relating to the material. No prior knowledge is expected, only willingness to wrestle with the ideas.
Regular participants of the Anarchist Reading Circle have access to a private community forum on our member space dedicated to the group!
There are two ways to join:
